T4x under $600?

I am wondering if it is possible to buy a Thinkpad T4x for $600 or less (I would definitely prefer a T41).
I don't trust eBay so I've never looked over there. I would expect specs somewhat like this:

14.1 inch XGA LCD
Intel Centrino 1.5 (or better)
256 Mb RAM (or more but 256 is fine)
40 Gb
ATI 7500 32Mb Graphic card
DVD/CDRW
Wireless, LAN, modem
Excellent cosmetic situation and no dead pixel
Battery holds good charge (I guess at least 2h of battery life is good enough)
Software is a non-issue, only original XP version from IBM is a prefered.
It would be excellent if the laptop is still under warranty, but I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't.

So what do people think? Is it possible to find a deal? If so, where should I be looking?

I bought my T40 recently for 600€, about 650$ that is I think; the specs are in my signature. (I added 512 MB ram myself though)

But I consider myself lucky buying at that price. Won't be too easy for you, but goodluck!

BTW: eBay isn't as unsafe as you think, just don't buy from the wrong people! the feedback mechanism is a perfect indication of people's trustworthyness...

I bought my T40 for 530. Someone else paid about 530 for a t40 with the specs you described. I have seen one go for 510. These were all on ebay.

It is difficult to buy T4x at $600, some of them are stolen,that is why they appear in Ebay, others if you are lucky because the owner need the money.

I believe there will be more T4X at $600 in about 6 to 12 months, as more dual cores are becoming available...

I am also waiting in Australia for IBM Aust. to release their refurbished models esp. T4X's sometimes late 2006 the latest...

there is a dude near me at UCI selling a T42 1.7, 1gb, 40gb but with 1024x768LCD with Intel Graphics for $600USD
might do it..but i want 1400x1050 lcd with atleast the radeon 7500
