T23 back to factory condition

#1 Post by stuartf » Sun Jan 22, 2006 6:51 pm

Just bought a used T23 from IBM (I also bought a T43 last month and it is a delight).

Trying to get a Linksys wireless card going I must have really screwed something up; although everything shows I am connected to the internet,
No Server Found" messages come up when I try to connect.

I can't even use a wired connection into my Linksys router, everything looks connected" but no response.

So, as I am only a few days into this, I want to go back to how I received it (otherwise I send it back to IBM). The T43 has the hidden partition and I made rescue discs right off. Any way for me to go backto factory settings given I have no internet connection (on the subject machine).

Thanks for any help

So, do you need recovery disks for the T23?

If so, what is your machine type? (ie. 2647-4MU) Did it come with Win2000 or Win XP?

I have a 2647 with Win XP, I saw on Lenovo that I access the recovery partition via F11 at bootup: is is working its way through the process as we speak.

BUT, recovery discs would be good in the event of a computer crash, how do I get those??

Thanks

I was going to offer to send you a set, but mine are Win2000.

You can post a listing in the Wanted section of the forum. There are a lot of members here that might send you copies just for the cost of shipping.

Glad to know that F11 worked though.

I am looking for a set of recovery disks for my T20. Would you be willing to ship me a set? I will PM you, thanks.
