WTB: PCMCIA CD-ROM (1969-111)
WTB: PCMCIA CD-ROM (1969-111)
I'm looking for an IBM PCMCIA CD-ROM drive (model # 1969-111). Drive must include PCMCIA card and power adapter and be working.
I'm willing to pay cash or trade a pair of 810mb hard drives with 755/760 caddies (both working) or a Backpack Parallel Port CDRW drive. I also have some other Thinkpad stuff I'd be willing to trade, including a complete 755CD which won't boot but has a working 540mb HD, 4x CD-ROM, 16mb memory card and NiCD battery (which holds a charge).
PM me or e-mail damienmc@comcast.net for offers

This isn't the same thing and it's probably not bootable but I have a HP Omnibook SCSI cd drive with power cord and PCMCIA SCSI card to allow you to use the drive with the computer. I used this at one point on my older ThinkPad 760E.
ThinkPad T60: 2GHZ CD T2500, 3gb RAM, 14.1" XGA, 60gb 7k100, Win 7 Ult
Latitude E7250: i5 5300U 2.3ghz, 12gb RAM, 12" 1080p touch, 256gb SSD, Win 10

I like this drive, if I can't find an IBM drive I might pick this one up.
I'd like to avoid SCSI, because I'll be using this drive in DOS and cramming all these [censored] Thinkpad drivers in 640k of memory is hard enough without another adapter, not to mention the resource conflict headaches.AlphaKilo470 wrote:This isn't the same thing and it's probably not bootable but I have a HP Omnibook SCSI cd drive with power cord and PCMCIA SCSI card to allow you to use the drive with the computer. Two other less significant reasons I want the IBM drive are the fact that the IBM drive has a game port, and the IBM drive actually physically matches my 760C.

The TEAC Portable utilizes your notebook's PCMCIA or USB connectors for a clean, simple installation. The drive receives its power through this connection.
