FS: --->> Like New Top-of-the-Line X41 (now $1299)

#1 Post by brainpicker » Thu Feb 02, 2006 9:50 pm

I wanted to sell my X41 Tablet as I didn't think I was going to use the Tablet features, so I bought this regular X41 instead to use when the Tablet eventually sold. Though I've had many "tire-kickers" on the Tablet no one followed through, so I decided to kept it and sell the X41 instead (although I will still sell the Tablet for a nice offer). It is the top-of-the-line unit with every available feature.

Here are the specs:

Model 2528-6NU
Pentium M 758 (1.5GHz) LV
512MB PC2-4200 DDR2 RAM (one slot free)
60GB 4200rpm HDD
12.1 inch 1024x768 LCD
Intel 900 Graphics (shared RAM upto 128MB)
Intel 802.11a/b/g Wireless (MPCI)
Bluetooth / Modem (CDC)
1GB Ethernet (LOM)
Secure Chip
Fingerprint Reader
8 Cell Li-Ion battery
WinXP Pro

It's just like new and includes everything but the box as I don't usually keep the boxes anymore. I did turn it on once to make sure it worked and had no dead pixels. Otherwise it is unused.

Price is now $1299 plus actual shipping cost.

If you have any questions please ask via e-mail.

Escrow is available through Bill Morrow (owner of Thinkpads.com). PayPal eChecks accepted at no additional cost. PayPal credit cards accepted if buyer pays the 3% fee.

Please e-mail your questions or buying intentions. I've bought, sold, and traded with dozens of forum members (and hundreds elsewhere like that [censored] auction site) and always deliver what I represent.

Thanks,
Yak

Kudos to brainpicker. John is to be trusted completely. I bought a T40 from him and it was in excellent shape. He will do whatever it takes to satisfy the seller. Enjoy................

First of all, thanks to everyone, especially AssPenny, rvehock, dorronto, and pianowizard for their kind words and support  . You all were a pleasure to deal with too. I've not been around the forums much lately so I just noticed your posts today. Things are getting back to normal at home so I'll be stopping by more often.

Second, suprisingly the X41 is still available so this response serves as a bump too.

I know I could sell this thing quickly on eBay as lesser models with crappy Mack warranties are selling for far more than I'm asking, but I'd rather deal with the fine folks here first where I've never had an issue (and I sure can't say that about eBay!). When I want to buy something I always look on this forum first, so I always try to sell here first too.

Thanks,
Yak

I'm off tomorrow and will take some time to make up an auction for eBay since the X41 is still available, and although I've had a lot of interest no buyer has come forward. I wanted to give my post a bump one last time to give anyone on the fence a chance to pick up a super laptop.

Although I feel my price was already very good for a new condition top-line model (I'd checked around and couldn't find a comparable unit for less), I'm willing to do even better. So in case price was an issue I will offer the X41 without the extra 4-cell battery for $1299 plus actual shipping cost to your destination.

Remember escrow is still an option through Bill Morrow. Those who have taken advantage of his service have been quite pleased.

And I'd even be willing to part with my X41 Tablet instead for a very healthy offer. I have to keep one of these and I care not which I end up with.

So all of you X-series buyers who are waiting, and waiting (and waiting, and... ) for a top level X60 to actually get delivered to a non-corporate buyer before like umm.... maybe May, why not buy a nice X41 now that you can actually use today? You know little about the build quality or usability of an X60, or even if the hype about duo-core will actually materialize into much improvement in power or battery life, but you already know an X41 is a quality machine and you will never see an X60 with these features for anywhere near $1299 (until maybe next year at this time). Ask yourself if spending $1000 more for an X60 with similar features and uncertain delivery is worth it, and if not why not buy my X41?

Please correspond via e-mail should you wish to buy or if there are questions unanswered.

Thanks again...
