WTB: T42p Recovery/Restore CD

#1 Post by uhammer » Sat Feb 25, 2006 2:25 am

Hi,
My HD crashed earlier today and I am looking to buy a set of the recovery CD's for a T42p w/ 14" screen. I actually ordered them w/ the system, but I accidentally threw them away along w/ the packaging many months ago. I can pay via Paypal. Please PM me w/ your offers. Thanks!

If you do not mind burned copies, I will ship you the disks for free. Just email me your address.

The recovers disk set will restore your laptop to the way it left the factory, so you get a version of Windows (XP for a T41), the relevant hardware drivers, and whatever IBM/Lenovo utilities were provided in the factory build.

It will also recreate the "pre-desktop" partition if you don't already have that on your T41.

Cheers,

Bill

bill,
I don't understand how the restore disks can work for any t41. When install ed don't you need the original COA/product key (I have). Required to have COA?
You can use restore disks on any T41?

Thanks

No.

The recovery disks install a IBM/Levono volume licence key for XP. The volume licence is valid as long as you have an actual COA sticker for XP, from the range issued to IBM/Levono, on your T41.

Cheers,

Bill
