[SOLD] Another Thinkpad X31 forsale

#1 Post by tselling » Sat Mar 04, 2006 1:42 pm

I've decided to sell off another of my X31's (keeping one as a DVArchive server). I've gone back to using my T41p for everyday use :-) Anyway since I have 2 of them left, can have choice of either one depending on how much you want to spend. Shipping to Continental 48 USA states only. Will use Insured FedEx Ground and shipping is included. Have one for $475 and one for $625. See specs below. Will consider offers after one week ONLY if one of them doesn't sell at asking.

Both are REBUILDS and have NO IBM warranty. The Thinkpad will come with a guarantee to be fully functional and you can have a week to check the Thinkpad out. If you want to return, buyer pays return INSURED shipping and I will deduct actual shipping from refund. Paypal or USPS money order for payment.

Whichever Thinkpad X31 you get will come with:
512MB ram (2x256)
40GB hard drive 4200rpm (100GB 5400rpm available - add $90)
Intel B/G built-in wifi
70 watt AC-adapter
Windows XP Pro preloaded on the HD.
Both have had systemboards recently replaced.
NO ultrabase and NO floppy drive included.
*** standard stuff 2 USB ports, Lan & modem, vga port, parallel port, infrared and 1394 port. 1 PCMCIA slot and one CF slot.

NO recovery CDs and NO recovery partition. I preload using T30 or T40 XP Pro recovery CDs and then load correct drivers from IBM.

The differences between the two X31's is below:

Thinkpad X31 Number 1 => $475 including ground shipping
- Intel Pentium-M 1.3Ghz (equivalent of about 1.9Ghz Pentium-4)
- Good battery - Cycle count = 117
- Somewhat worn English/Korean keyboard (some shiney keys). Most all the keys have english equivalent stamped on the key. Only one that doesn't is the key with the pipe and backslash. Doesn't display the backslash. See picture.
- Good LCD, a couple of small scratches (from keyboard maybe?). I don't notice them during useage.
- Windows XP Home COA (I can preload XP Pro.... not sure about XP Home)
- Cracked plastic bezel around LCD and visibly repaired. No impact to functionality.
- Cracked plastic around the USB port on the left side and repaired. No impact to functionality and not very noticeable.
- A couple of superificial cracks in the palmrest. No impact to functionality and not very noticeable.

Thinkpad X31 Number 2 => $625 including ground shipping
- Intel Pentium-M 1.6Ghz (equivalent of about 2.4Ghz Pentium-4)
- Good battery - Cycle count = 35
- Almost new US keyboard
- Brand new LCD.
- Windows XP Pro COA
- Cracked plastic bezel around LCD and visibly repaired. No impact to functionality.

Hey Teresa,
I've tried contacting you several times since this post (and the last) went up. I take this to mean you've already found buyers, if this is the case please put up a note to let potential buyers know.

But, if the second machine is still available, please contact me, it's just what I'm looking for.
Cheers,
Thatcher

The question came up whether these have Gigabit ethernet. They have 10/100Mbit ethernet, not gigabit. Thanks.
