Hi. The monitor is still for sale. Something worth noting is that,It might be worth mentioning the intense pixel paranoia of LCD-purchasing. In this case, you know in advance that there are no dead or stuck pixels. Serious inquiries only, please.

and i must admit to buying a BUNCH of displays from DELL for the pixel reason..
stuck on pixel and back it would go..
that said, i have 6 20 inth DELL flat panel displays and no stuck on pixels..
(must add that no stuck on pixels on on the old IBM displays i have had and the one i still have..

i'm sure the seller here will modify his asking price..

I'm going to hold on my asking price, since Dell charges over $450 for the same with taxes and shipping. I would like to urge those interested to consider the fact that this is only a "used" monitor in the most technical, legal sense, meaning that I would be lying to say it is "new." I would also ask readers to keep in mind that this is being written by a human being, rather than an empty keyboard who happens to have a monitor available. I say I will keep my asking price because I will entertain other offers. However, as was said, the offer referred to is simply rude, given that the monitor and speakers are basically new, with a four-year warranty.

Dell's four-year warranty is better than nothing, but will basically only cover mechanical failures, iirc. If less than 8-16 dead pixels don't go bad in under a square inch, you are S.O.L.

That being said, I bought a brand-new 2005 FPW, that's a 20" widescreen, for $362 from Dell just a few months ago.

I would say it's a bit overpriced for even an opened-box display without DELL's 21-day return policy, it's possible (though not every day) to get a 19" display direct from Dell for under your asking price.

I've been told, both by a Dell sales rep and by an owner, that it is not uncommon to use the policy as a sort of monitor-replacement plan.

You are right that deals are offered. However, the prices do not include the warranty, the speakers, taxes, shipping, or the knowledge of the panel's pixel status (I wasn't aware of any statistics until Bill's post - thanks for mentioning it). As I said, it is an asking price.

I too own many of these LCDs and they are very good, but not to be rude either, i would reconsider the asking price a tad.

Your correct in saying the deals do toss of the price, but i personally wait for the deals to buy the items.
