SOLD! Hitachi 7k100 80GB drive flashed to IBM FW

#1 Post by meanestfish » Sun Mar 19, 2006 3:18 pm

I JUST got this drive a little over a month ago for my t43, and it works flawlessly. However, my T60 just arrived, and much to my suprise, it uses a different interface. This drive is PATA and works on all previous T series models, but not on a T60.

Furthermore, I can confirm that I have flashed it with the IBM firmware so it DOES NOT give the 2010 error on T43 models. (It sure as heck didn't on mine after I flashed it.) I'm asking for a reasonable price of $150 shipped. Paid $163.

Model: HTS7201080G9AT00
Age: 1 month old :(
Condition: MINT

Status: SOLD to the man in the red hat!

That drive will work in the Ultrabay of the T60.

You should keep it for backups!

I know I know, it's just the speed boost is so awesome that I'd rather use the crappy 5400 that came with my T60 as a backup drive (it's 80 gigs, same size as this drive) and have the awesome power of 7200 RPM for my main drive. Bootup times and response times are so greatly improved that I just can't go back.

This is 20 days away from being a brand new drive. $135 shipped? I'm in Manhattan so it will hit your doorstep in what, 2 days? Also, this drive has been reflashed with the IBM firmware, so no 2010 error, something that Mwave's OEM drive cannot offer. It's really difficult to flash.
