SOLD
Up for grabs to day is my beloved IBM X40 Notebook. If you are looking for something Super Light and Ultra Compact, this baby is for you.
I purchased a T41P a year ago but I still used the X40 frequently due to its size and weight. I recently went back to school and find myself using the T41P more (the X40 couldn't really handle my engineering progs) leaving the X40 lying around so I thought it was about time to sell.
SPECIFICATIONS
Model: 2371-8EU
Pentium M - Low Voltage 1.2GHz Processor
512MB PC2700 DDR RAM
40GB 4200rpm HDD
12.1" XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD
*Intel PRO/Wireless 2100B
2 x USB2.0 ports
1 x SD Card Slot
1 x PC Card Slot
VGA out, Gigabit LAN, Modem, Infrared
Dimensions: 10.5" x 9.3" x 0.81-1.06"
Weight (w/ battery): 3.2 lbs
Warranty until October 18, 2007 (PM me if you would like the S/N)
BATTERY LIFE
The laptop will come with the 8 Cell High-Capacity Li-Ion. The battery was seldomly deep cycled and has an avg battery life of 3.5-4hrs (with wifi ON, LCD on medium brightness, sound on medium volume, CPU speed set to MAX)
If you go really conservative and turn wifi off, LCD to min, sound off, CPU to Adaptive, you can easily run it for over 6hrs!
*MODIFICATIONS
It is a 2371-8EU but I had problems using the stock wifi card to connect to the router so I swapped it with an Intel PRO/Wireless 2100B card (Authentic IBM part, no hacking done) making it a true Centrino. Had no problems since.
The IBM recovery partition has also been deleted to increase available hard drive space (I used it to store a Recovery Image and Data Recovery Programs)
CONDITION
I would say the laptop is in OK condition with some wear on the corners which Thinkpads are notorious for due to their "rubber" coating and some scratches on the battery. Some of the coating also came off the upgrade panel under the laptop when my nephew peeled off the Windows XP sticker during a family gathering. One of the rubber feet also came off but I still have it and can easily be re-attached with a little double-sided tape.
WHAT DOES IT COME WITH?
X40 Notebook, 8 Cell battery, 56W AC adapter
BONUS I will also throw in an external TDK 52x CD burner for local deals.
PRICE: $900USD (or Audoiphile IEMs + cash) + shipping [OBO]
The laptop will come pre-installed with a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro. Preference will be given to local buyers. Money Order and EMT preferred. I also have a Paypal account but I've never used it to receive money before. All transaction fees to be paid by buyer.
NOTE FOR LOCAL DEALS: Due to the number of counterfeits, I will only take cash if I see you take it out from an ATM or teller.
Feel free to leave a posting or send me a PM if you have any further questions.
