Please excuse my ignorance, but if you are getting the LCD replaced next week why not just get the case fixed at the same time? You said you were too lazy to call them, but you called once already for the screen, right? So why didn't you ask, "Hey there super-nice customer service technician, since I have the Thinkpad Protection Plan how about fixin' my cracked case too while y'all have it in the shop to replace the screen?"? That would have made the sale much easier and quite possibly got you some extra green too!

Again, excuse me if I'm off-base and missed something in your description.

In any case it's a nice price and should sell fast to a 15" lover like me. If I didn't already have more Thinkpads than fingers I'd pick it up for sure.

Thank you for your concern but I had my reasons. I know people that sent in their laptop regarding LCD service and gotten the laptop back with a new Lcd casing as well. I want it to see if they going to do that to my laptop or not. Plus other reasons behind this too. HEH :D

This is not exactly the kind of comment you want to make when trying to sell the laptop. It made me throw the brakes on even thinking about buying it.

I agree. I had one of my college buyers ready to contact the seller on his own about it, but when the seller placed that last response to my question I didn't know what to make of it and I advised the kid to wait. Like I said, I think it's a nice price for the unit (though Mrs. Yak is complaining already about the gradual re-building of Thinkpads around here again!), and no offense meant, but as tfflivemb2 said the statements raised questions and the answer caught me off guard a bit.

Unfortunately the kid bought elsewhere.

Perhaps it is because you are not that serious about buying it? If a person really want to buy the laptop, they would contact me through Pm or email for more infos about it. Before you make any further comments, check my heatwares. I'm not here to scam anyone. For the fact that I'm selling the laptop means that I could post anything down. I don't know why you getting butthurted just because I was being honest and stated my reasons. I think think my comments were neither a negative remark or insult to anyone. Therefore, I deserve the rights to add any comment I chose to . I'm not forcing anyone to buy the laptop am I? Thank you

Believe me I'm selling this laptop elsewhere as well. May be you should think outside the box once awhile

Just to play the role of Devil's Advocate here, there have been enough instances of folks sending machines with perfect displays in to get display surrounds repaired and winding up having EZServe replace the entire display with one that has stuck/inoperative pixels that I would not read anything negative into the OP's comment.

Nice machine, good price.

I hope you are a little nicer and ammenable to questions on those other forums, or it's going to be a LONG time for this to sell.

As a matter of fact, I was seriously interested. If you check my signature, as well, as my background here, you will see that I buy a different laptop about every other week or so. Most of the time, I pick up laptops for people that are looking. I just happen to have someone that is looking for a T42 or better laptop and $900 for this system (including EZServe & TPP warranties) sounded pretty good to me....it is within in her spending limit.

Maybe I should have better slim lined the initial quote to "Plus other reasons behind this too". This gave me quite an uneasy feeling and thought that I would pass on that it doesn't sound too appealing.

As for considering it now, given the responses that you have posted....no thanks. Good luck with your sale though, I do honestly wish you the best.

Good luck.

I don't see any "red flags", as I've said before.

Somebody should grab this before I do. Last thing I need is another T4X in the fleet.

Also, in case you guys wondering why it is not sold yet. It is not because of the contents of this thread. It is because I've just sent it in for service again and could not conclue the deal at the moment. I should get it back on Monday. Thank you

Just curious, you list your heatware name as onetouch40 but when I happen to check the heatware site, there is another coolname1. Is that you also?
