I am looking to buy a used or new T40 palm rest in Australia. Willing to pay A$40 shipped to Canberra.

i might have one..

i need to check..

there were two varieties though..

for the 14 inch display with and without the touchpad..

and one for the 15 inch models but i am thinking there were no 15 inch T40's..
only T41 and thereafter..

so you need to specify which palmrest it is that you want..

I have the part number at home, it is part of the 1st gen ThinkPad T40 series.

I hate the TouchPad and I will be doing this shortly. I am experimenting with a touchpad currently, once I get it figured out I will order one without it......

If no one replies by tonight I will try to get it for you

Sweet.
I don't like my touchpad on my T40, so it would be great.

Mine is a T40 2373-PM1 (14.1") with touchpad. I too am not a fan of the touch pad, so I don't really mind which one is offered.

BTW I also really need the screws to fasten the palm rest. :)

I have a no-touchpad palmrest that I can let go for $25 plus shipping ($5 in US, $15 to other country).

Has anyone found the link/valid part number to determine cost for the touchpad model from IBM, the no touchpad model is very reasonable?

I don't want to get killed in shipping costs (as happened on my ThinkPad sale) and it has to be worth the effort of actually packing and shipping it.

For too cheap, my time is just more valuable.
