Buying a used T41

I have finally come upon a T41 with over a year's worth of warranty and the hardware I desire-CD-RW/DVD, 40 GHD, 768 MRam, 1.6 GHz Processor. Anyone see any red flags I might be careful of?
T41 2374 TFU "premium factory warranty" until September 2007,special bid type of On Site Warranty. I called IBM, they confirmed if my serial number matches what the seller (via ebay) put in the ad that I'd be covered until September 2007.
I'm hoping I am just nervous to put out $600 plus shipping, though it certainly seems to be a great price.
Anyone have any dealings with Mtntrooper on ebay? And yes, I realize there is another forum for checking out a seller's reputation.
Any help would be appreciated!

Note from Moderator: And I very helpfully moved your message to the Marketplace forum. Perhaps you should have posted in the right place the first time, hmmm???

As long as it's in fine cosmetic shape and no spill damage, you're in good shape. It is a fair price with nice spec.'s and the warranty is ideal to have.

Good luck.

I just got my T41 on Craigslist with similar specs. I paid $550, but it was a bargain. I would have paid $600.

The only thing I wish I would have checked closer was the LCD, there is a single stuck pixel. The HD screw is also missing. If you are weary of the machine (as you should be on ebay) I would send the seller an email with questions regarding everything that might not be described. Then forget about it if the seller does not answer or dances around the question. I have had a few bad Thinkpad experiences on ebay. Good luck.

wow. craigslist has a lot of stuff for much cheaper prices.

I found a T42P - $700in the box. Now i dont know whether I should be suspicious of stolen goods or if the seller is hyping up their product.

Something is so very wrong with these laptops being sold for very cheap.

1) Only deal with your local craigslist.

2) NEVER reply to a listing that doesn't give a location!

For the record, I wouldn't list my location in a Craiglist ad. I would only give that information after contact from a buyer that I was comfortable with. Too many psychos in the Milwaukee/Chicago area (no offense to those from there).
