I know a little off topic here, but I've had great luck and pleasure dealing with the honest people on this forum.

For anyone interested in running OS X on a machine made for it at a lower than new price, I am selling one of my two PowerBooks to prepare for a new MacBook Pro.

My 12" PowerBook comes with 3 batteries (total of 15 hours runtime), the AC adapter, install DVD including iLife 06, all original cables, manuals and is packed in the original box. I bought this new in February, and it is under warranty through February 2007 (AppleCare can be added anytime while under warranty). I will notify Apple of the buyer to change registration information and transfer the warranty.

This is the top-of-the-line 12" PowerBook, and is about the same size as a ThinkPad X32 without the base station, though heavier at 4.6lbs. PowerBook keyboards are terrific, as good as ThinkPads, though they unfortunately are touchpad only. Of course it has AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and BlueTooth 2.0, and has an 80GB 5400 RPM Hitachi TravelStar (shock protected, just like a ThinkPad's) hard drive. It comes with 256MB on the motherboard and another 256MB in the single ram slot. For $75 more I'll install a 1 GB Samsung chip to put it to the maximum 1.25GB.

This is the second 12" PowerBook I've owned, having used a 1.0 GHz model since 2003. These are right up there with the T-series for reliability and has been about the most trouble-free model Apple has offereed, with extreme heat from the first generation 867MHz models the only complaint. This is the 1.5GHz 4th generation model and it has no such problems.

$1100 (512 MB RAM) shipped in lower 48
$1175 (1.25 GB RAM) shipped in lower 48

I just want to say to the potential buyers out there that he is very reliable seller.
I bought a 80GB HD with an enclosure from him in a very good price and the delivery time was super fast.
The item that I got is way better than I expected for the price I paid to him.
Very positive experience with him :D

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I always try to present as honest a description as possible, and always take very good care of my things. This is a VERY nice PowerBook that runs Mac OS X 10.4.6 beautifully.

I don't know about the price. It could be lower since now you can preorder a macbook(none pro) for about $1000 @ Amazon. It also has a $100 rebate.

The specs are alomost close to this powerbook you're selling, even better if you ask me.

The non-Pro MacBook is a consumer model. It is faster, but not better. Kind of like trying to say that a 2.1GHz R52 is better than a 1.8GHz T42. The R might be faster, but the T is definitely a better machine that is still worth more money. 12" PowerBooks like mine go for about $1200-1300 on eBay WITHOUT the shipping.

For what its worth, I bought an X22 from asiafish about 4 months ago and it was in even better condition than his description. It actually looked brand new to me (unlike him, I do not take great care of my stuff).
