You'd have to really dig and even then you might not find anything. The last ThinkPad 600 rolled off the manufacturing line in 1999 and the last 600E and 600X rolled off the line in 2001 according to IBMs specbook.
Still, I suppose it might be possible; I have seen 760Cs and 560Zs on eBay new in box in the past year or two. Even so, I think the best you'll find is either refurbished or "near-mint."
I acutally bought my 600E off of eBay and with the exception of very minor keyboard wear, it looks like it was never used. If you're careful and keep an eye out, you can usually find some nice units on eBay.

Yeah, you're right. I say a brand new factory sealed one on E-bay about a year ago. I should've grabbed it then. I am so mad that I didn't just go ahead and get it. I do want a brand new factory sealed one rather than one that has been used but in good condition. If you or anyone comes across one or has one please, let me know!

well... if someone posted that i'd think they were joking too, but I did see one on e-bay factory sealed and there is a factory sealed 560z on e-bay right now so I figured i'd give it a try.

Given that this is a Thinkpad forum, and so many of us love our Thinkpads [/stroking T21 feverishly], IF anyone had a sealed TP 600, the odds are pretty good that they wouldn't be selling it.....atleast not at a reasonable price.
eBay is a whole other animal. People would sell their own parents/children, if they could make a profit.

You know, sometimes, I almost miss my grandmother and sister but I had to pay off the timeshare somehow.

I would suspect that somebody would marry a 600 factory-sealed but never touched her for 6 years.
The only scenario I can think of might be at a sinked ship within a safe where one shining 600 stays with a jar of gold and silvers.

A few weeks ago I saw a ThinkPad 560 series NEW in the box, the seller was asking for $250+ for it....He post it the auction twice and never sold, he did not post again after that...
So if there is a NEW 560, there could still be a NEW 600....

Yep, I was blown away recently when a new, factory-sealed Transnote showed up on eBay and
sold for $1300! The original poster might be waiting a while, but a 600X might turn up some day.

I saw that last week Emanuel, the bidder at $1300 is no longer registered!

Hey, you're right. In fact, when I did the search for that auction, I turned up another where it went for a $1000 BIN and the winner is no longer registered. I'd suspect a shill, but why would a shill use BIN?

Aren't shills usually working on behalf of the seller?
Why wouldn't he/she simply close the auction early rather than get someone to pretend to BIN? Perhaps attempting to build a rep?
Either way it's very strange.

There is an auction for NEW ThinkPad 600X plastics!! Including base and palmrest with speakers. It is a start for a "new" ThinkPad 600 series.

Hehe...most of those "key reasons to consider the ThinkPad 560Z" present themselves as somewhat outdated
