Price reduced to $850 prepaid, shipped to continental United States.

This is a very nice computer that has served me well and has a lot of mileage left in it. I hope I can sell it here--it is a jungle out there. Outside of this forum, the ratio of scammers to potentially interested buyers has to be 20 to 1. I would take less to deal with a reputable buyer.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks.

Somebody here needs to grab this T41p!

The machine is an absolute workhorse and if I didn't already have two of them I'd grab this in a heartbeat at the price.

Hi, JHEM. :)

I just saw this, and if you say it's a great machine, I trust ya.

I can get it as soon as I am sure, but I've only been looking at T42s, since they seem... and they're about the same price, so I'm confused. ?

$850 for that T41p is, really, a good deal; even if you have been looking at T42s. A T42 would have to be a T42p and have all the features to match that T41p and such a T42p would cost alot more than that T41p.

If I was looking for an entry point into the high-end T4X Series, that T41p would be a very good starting point. ;) :)

Just wonder. Is the CPU dothan or what?

seems to me most T41s are Banias based. Not sure about T41Ps.

Looks like we might have a deal, then. :D

I'm just trying to decide between this, or:

Code: Select all

+(brand new, unopened, original box)
T42 1.8 GHz
-512 RAM,
-40GB 5400 HD,
=14.1 SXGA+(1400x1050)
-32MB ATI Radeon 7500,
+CD-RW/DVD (24x24x24x/8x)
+Intel 802.11b/g wireless
+Fingerprint Reader,
+9 cell Li-Ion battery,
=WinXP Pro

For ~$900
My sweet T23 (2647-4MU - 640 ram, 30gb 5400 hd) is doing all I need, really, but it just seems to be a good time to get a deal and give this to my son (Jr high).

I'll do one of them today. ;)

Just to compare a bit with the T42 you've mentioned in your post, the T41p has the Atheros based a/b/g card, a 60GB 7200RPM HD, built-in Bluetooth and a 128MB video card.

The last item alone, the video card, puts the T41p far in the lead for me as an AutoCAD user. The lack of a fingerprint reader on the T41p is of no concern to me, but the built-in Bluetooth in the T41p is another primary decision point as I use it almost daily with one my BT devices, Tungsten E2 PDA, Motorola Razr cell phone or my GPS unit.

I see. For some reason, I do not like Banias. The sonoma on my T43 performs much better than Banias. I can tell the difference. The extra cache might be the reason.

I'm assuming you mean Dothan (released in 2 flavors - 400FSB and 533FSB).

FYI, Sonoma is the chipset on the T43.

You are right, I mean Dothan on my Sonoma. No Sonoma.

I purchased a laptop from Rex over a year ago and it was a real gem. Exactly as represented. He really is a super nice guy to deal with and he'll go out of his way to make things right. For example, when he forgot to copy & delete years of family pics from the drive on the laptop sold to me he overnighted me a newer, better drive AND a set of install CD's to load the factory image. Totally first-class in my book. In fact, if I didn't already have that R50p I've been trying to sell I'd be picking up the phone to buy this right now! $850 is a fantastic deal. Don't pass this up because of his low post count or any other trust issue. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't.

t41p

#29 Post by semaj » Sat Jul 15, 2006 4:51 pm

This guy is a very nice and knowledgeable guy. The laptop is a very good deal and hard to pass up. Try to find a compareable laptop on ebay. This costs half the price as a t43 similiarly configured. I would have purchased but I am unable to at this time. The pictures of this laptop show that it is in good condtion and i would be shocked if it was not babied since he purchased it. The laptop is still under warranty so feel safe if anything happens to it. Don't let this laptop go undsold, it is worth every dollar.
