This will work with a T43, won't it? I know the X30 and X31 adapters did/do.

How much?

I believe that the T42 came with a 72W adapter. The 56W adapter is generally for some of the older systems, like the 600, 770, etc.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it should work just fine. Does it look like this?

If so, it's the standard one that came with the X30 and X31 that I've had in the past, and worked with my T4x series and T22s (and an A30 just for good measure) without problem...

I'll post a picture of it tonight. Stupid me. I have a T42p that I could test it with too. Will post those results as well.

A 56W power supply WILL work, but it isn't recommended...especially if you have a battery installed. I guarantee that you run the risk of damaging your system board by using a lower than recommended power adapter. I have seen this happen on several 600Es with people that have insisted on using the old 35W adapters, instead of a 56W adapter. You can go over (ie. using a 72W on a 600E), but you shouldn't go under (ie. 56W on a T42)
