FS: Working i1400 for Parts or Project

#1 Post by schen » Thu Jul 20, 2006 12:34 am

I'm putting this 2621-420 with issues up For Sale. Everything works except as listed below:

* The A/C connector on the Motherboard has at least one "cold solder" joint and it needs to be fixed. It works if you wiggle it a little until the power light comes on and then make sure nothing moves! It can be repaired by resoldering. I've done it once 2 years ago... I just don't want to do it again!
* TrackPoint is out. The part of the keyboard cable that goes to the TrackPoint is torn and so it or the KB needs to be replaced. The machine works fine with a mouse.

Other than the above, it's a fully functional computer with all drives working, no problems with the screen, includes 1 under year old battery, and proper A/C adapter. I'd prefer to sell the machine without HDD and RAM, but will negotiate for that with interested parties.

General Specs are as follows:

Celeron 466, 13" HPA Screen, 1 USB, VGA, Parallel, Serial, PS2, 2 PCMCIA, and Modem, Externally controllable CD player, CD-ROM, FDD, 2 Accessible RAM slots

Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll consider most any reasonable offer.
Family Daily Drivers- T430s, T530, X220
Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP ProDesk SFF drone machines :(
Other Projects- Edge 15, Z61m (Titanium)
Historic Retired ThinkPads- T42p, X20, A31p, 701c, 760XD, WorkPad C505

Sorry, this slipped through the cracks on my end. I have spent about 80% of my time out of town this year, and forget to follow up on things when I get back.

What would you consider a reasonable offer for it, including the hard drive caddy? I know that there are two parts that I really need to make a working system out of the two i1400s (500MHz) that I have....the white cable that connects internally for the power button, and the hard drive caddy...not necessarily the hard drive itself.
