FS: New Apple MacBook Blk ***SOLD***

#1 Post by asiafish » Sun Aug 06, 2006 4:24 pm

This is the replacement provided by Apple for my first MacBook. This one has no defects and runs perfectly (I opened it and tested it thoroughly). No stuck or dead pixels.

This is an amazingly fast machine, but is just a bit too bulky for my taste so I thought before hitting eBay and Craigslist that I'd try my luck here.

It is a full package, with maximum upgrades. Here is the list.

Black case with rubber-like texture (much like a late 90s ThinkPad)
2.0 GHz CoreDuo processor
120GB 5400 RPM SATA hard drive (Seagate Momentus)
2.0 GB of Patriot brand memory
(original 80GB Seagate and 512MB memory included in sale)

Also comes with 3 AC adapters (one for home, one for work, one for your bag) and two Apple remotes (kept the one from the first DOA machine).

I also have it already set up and running both Mac OS X and Windows XP using the very latest 1.02 version of Apple's Boot Camp. Windows is already installed and activated, and I've even installed WinDVD 7 and DVDRegion+CSSFree, so you can watch foreign DVDs (from Windows only) without changing the region of the drive (only four changes on most drives).

The MacBook is in absolutely perfect, brand-new condition, and comes with the replacement receipt from the Glendale, CA Apple Store dated August 2. You can purchase 3 years of Apple Care if you so desire, but I did not.

This is latest production from the factory, so early problems of "mooing" and sudden shutdown have long-since been addressed (my first MacBook had the early-run problems). I ran this machine in a continuous loop of a DVD movie, an iTunes song on repeat AND played the PowerPC version Wolfenstein 3D using the Rosetta emulation (far more processor intensive than any Intel-optimized program) for over three hours without any issues other than the usual CoreDuo heat. That the game, movie and song worked without any stutters shows just how powerful this thing really is. Think T60 performance.

The laptop sells for $1500 at Apple plus tax, but I'm selling with the two extra AC adapters, the extra remote control and the upgraded hard drive and RAM for $1600 shipped, which is less than you will pay for the MacBook alone after adding tax from the Apple Store.

I'll take $1500 for a cash sale in Los Angeles.

I'm very picky.
