I'm new to this forum and just learned of it. I'm a moderator over at www.notebookreview.com and since I'm a big thinkpad person, I'll be around here alot as well.
Anyhow I've got an R40 (2897-GAU) for sale and here are the details
Here is the link to the IBM spec sheet.
http://www5.pc.ibm.com/us/products.nsf/ ... p/_2897GAU
I've upgraded it to 1GB of RAM from the original 256MB and it also includes a second hard drive adapter for the Ultrabay valued at $45
http://www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/store ... &cntry=840
Quick rundown of features:
1.5 Ghz Pentium M processor (equal in speed to a 2.5 Ghz Pentium 4)
1GB ram
15" (1400x1050) SVGA display(no dead or hot pixels)
bluetooth & 802.11b wireless built-in.
60GB Hard drive (w/ office Professional 2003 installed and activated with a valid license)
1394/firewire port, 2-USB ports and parallel port.
Very long battery life (6.2 hours)
Notebook is in perfect mint condition (not a single scratch or mark of any kind) and includes the original box, documentation and everything as new. It also includes the IBM restore disks. it's original purchase date is 2/25/04, so it still has 7 months on it's 1 year warranty remaining.
The reason for selling is that I'm a techno-hound and I've just upgraded to a T42 thinkpad.
Asking Price is $1500. I bought it for $1640 and I've upgraded from 256MB to 1GB of ram and am including the drive adapter as well.
If you 1GB is too much memory for you, I can sell the notebook just as I bought it with 256MB or ram for $1350(of course the HDD adapter is included for this price)
I have a very good Ebay selling history ~+300 (bootleg2go) and payment can be made by money order, cashier's check or PayPal. If payment is with PayPal please add 1.5% to total to cover 1/2 of paypal fees. Shipping on paypal purchase is to paypal confirmed addresses only(to protect both the myself and the creditcard owner).
Shipping & insurance charges are $25 and includes 2nd day fedx to anywhere in the continental US. I cannot sell to anyone outside of the United States.
Feel free to contact me at either bootleg2go@yahoo.com or jackoneill@gmail.com
Thanks
Jack
