FS: T60 palmrest w/ fingerprint read for 15" ($100 obo)

I have a relatively new T60 palm rest with imbedded fingerprint reader. It fits the 15" LCD models. The part number is 41V9908.

I've only had the laptop for about 2 months, when the left trackpad button started getting mushy from overuse. The button clips to a metal rod underneath at two places, and I think one of the clips is worn out. Because you can't just replace the plastic button, I got an entire replacement palm rest under warranty.

This is great for anyone who wanted to add a fingerprint reader to their T60. If you don't use the trackpad, great! If you do, you can easily replace the left button with the one from your palm rest. You just have to unscrew the 4 screws that secures the trackpad to the palm rest. I have instructions here.

ASKING $100 or best offer. The cheapest I found online was $150. PayPal only (checking only, I can't accept credit card payments).

Goofy, do you think it was a defective button, are you heavy on the trackpad button, just curious.

To be honest, I think it's a cheap design on Lenovo/IBM's part. Click here to read the complaint I just posted. It also doesn't help that I'm a big user of the button, so I probably over-abused it, because I'm having the SAME issue with my current palm rest. That's why this is a great upgrade/replacement for anyone who prefers the trackpoint. Or, they can always replace the button using their own.

Bump.

I'm willing to go lower, if there's even an interest from anyone.

Are you sure that you were not supposed to send it back to Lenovo? There should have been a return sticker to return your old part, if not, you will be receiving a letter from Lenovo to pay for the part you received...

A return label was never included, and I never received anything from Lenovo about it.

I had a thread about it: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=27083

you'll receive it in the mail, within a week. Otherwise they will bill you retail, you don't want that. OR just call IBM abd find out

i second that and have been in that situation at least 2x so far. You just need to send it back them and everything is squared away. it took me a month or two before they mailed me the bill
