do you know if it will work with thinkpads? I bought a similar one weeks ago but it is not thinkpad-compatible, especially the X40 series. Even with no-1802.com.

I will be using it in a T41 series.

Not sure about the X series. You may want to shoot a pm or email to asiafish or JHEM (as they both use atheros)

If there is NOT and IBM part number on em, they are not compatible. At least from the pics, I don't see any FRUs.

Brent, that is not entirely true...

Agere based cards, such as made by Toshiba, will work in ThinkPads up to and including the T41 (not T42). They don't need to have an FRU number. Tested in A30/A31/T23/T30/T40/T41 (and X30 I think).

And that being said

the above linked cards may very well not work in Thinkpads

I tend to agree with Brent.

scosgt1, those are Atheros card. Not Agere card.

I have a similar card which is based on chip 5002. It is not compatible with my X41. This card is based on chip 5112. I am not sure if it will work.

Isn't it similar to this:

Both have the code "AR5212", whatever that means.

I got answers from the seller. He said the card does not bear any "IBM" sign and it says another "vendor".

I got a similar card. It is almost identical according to the picture. It does not work with my X41 tablet.
