The T22 needs a
Mobile Pentium® III Processor in Micro-PGA2 Package
Two sligtly different versions of the 1000MHz cpu exist :
[SL53S] and [SL5TF]

I think I need the SL53S, which I found on an earlier upgrade post. Are all SL53S cpus packaged the same? Is there anything unique for the Thinkpad T22? Does it matter if the cpu came from a Compaq, Dell or whatever as long as it is a SL53S? I relaize the heatsink/fan would have to be Thinkpad specific.

Hi,
Have 1 GHz cpu(micro PGA 100MHz FSB with two fan assemblies.
One is used, one is brand new. No longer owns 20 series Tpads.
15.00 including postage if you are in N.A.

FRU 26P9317 is the original for 900MHz + !GHz T22`s,
the linked one will also work, but even w as5 the fan
will run much more compared to the definitely heavier 26P9317 .
see also T2x HMM: 62P9631.pdf , s.148
(i know 2 versions , one has a copper plate to contact the die
other one seems to be chromium plated. sorry no fru`s,
i always just clean + as5 them ;)
