I hope I am wrong on this thing, but I was considering buying a Z60t and upgrade the optical drive later since it only comes with CD-RW/DVD drive. But BOY! Do they charge!! $250 for a DVD burner drive? Is Lenovo out of their mind or what?

Anyway, I want to know if there is a 3rd party solution to this. Much thanks.

Btw, please no external drive.

No 3rd party solution other than an external drive.

And yes they are out of their mind.

I was complaining to a Lenovo rep about this last week.

I am talking multi burner, you are talking combo burner.
they are dufferent story.

100-150 is usually second hand UJ-822 or older module.
even UJ-832 is over 200.

What I offered is new UJ-842; then, what are you talking about?

Allright, no fighting here ;)

So this is the latest drive for ultrabay slim? You mention about 3 pcs, so I suppose this requires some kind of assembly, is it? just trying to find more info about this.

actually it just plug and play.

no other driver needed, just install to your drive slot.
