So with the flat bezel does it go right into the bay with no problems?

Yes, the bay dimensions are identical and it fits in my T42 just fine. Just not a perfectly flush fit b/c it is made for the T60 series (flush on that one).

EDIT - look at the bezel on your T4x and see how it curves down. Now imagine a bezel that just goes straight down.

I'll see if I can find some pics.

The bezel is identical to the one in this auction (but this is a different model, NOT dual layer capable):

Only the UJ-842s made in the last 6 months are dual layer capable. The ones made for the 12 moths prior to that are NOT. Therefore the VAST MAJORITY of the 842 drives on the market are not DL capable.

But thanks for pointing out that I have a better price on the drive DL drives.

EDIT: and unless the seller GUARANTEES that drive is DL capable, I would have my doubts. There are a LOT of those drives sold as DL capable that are not (the UJ-842S is the DL capable drive, but the majority still sold are the UJ-842B).
