WTB 770ED Hard Drive

#1 Post by rdkng07 » Sun Oct 01, 2006 6:19 pm

I need a hard drive for this 770ED. A small (3-6 Gs) will work fine. Used is ok too, i just don't want to spend much money on this thing if I can't get it working. Formatted would be good, but if not I assume FDISK will work on these? I will be running 98SE.

All I can find cheap on Ebay are ATA-3 or 4. Does this matter? I don't know I'm new to laptops.

Thanks,
RG

Just about any 2.5" PATA hard drive will work.

Do you atleast have the caddy?

Hi tfflivemb2

Yes I have the caddy. The hard drive I pulled out by the way is 2.75" wide and about .375" thick. It filled up the entire caddy.

I saw a 4GB hard drive on ebay for $7 somthing. That would work except it was an ATA-4 not a ATA-6. I am however starting to think that the pins would be the same regardless, and the ATA-4 would work but be a little slower.

Thanks,
Rodger
