I bought a t42 1.7g last week, only because of the cheap price from ohio state. But I don't really need a fast processor.
Would anyone be willing to swap a banias 1.5g or 1.6g with me?

Hi AssPenny,

I've been thinking over how to get the cpu to eachother, and realized that the shipping procedure would be really complicated. So may be I should try to find someone in the LA area to avoid all the hassle.

not to crap your thread, but you both do realize that you would be voiding your warranties.

Thread crap indeed. but its a good concern.
My other option is to buy a bananas cpu from ebay, and keep the dothan in the drawer. But this seems to me like waste of earth's resources.

Im not much of a warrenty guy anyway, when things break, i toss them i a drawer for parts later. Hardware is too cheap to worry about that stuff anymore.

More money that sense I guess.
But to each his own.

Well, I would think differently when it comes to a $2500 laptop. When it's broken, I'd rather have it repaired and the warranty will allow you to do that for free. Otherwise, it's just a $2500 brick stowed away in the drawer. Of course, this is in case it's broken only. Anyway, that's just my .02 and I agree with "to each his own" comment above. After all, you might know more about your laptop usage than I do.
