I am looking for a stick of RAM that will work in my NON THINKPAD laptop. It's a Compaq Armada M300. I have looked on e-bay, but sellers want $60 a stick plus shipping. That's just outrageous. I came here hoping to source one. So if you have a stick that will work in my machine, please let me know what you want for it shipped to 91740.

Thanks.

I thought that the M300 took PC100? Atleast the one that I had did. Maybe the 133's will work as well.

Someone was offering several (low-density?) 256MB PC100 SODIMMs at about $30 apiece a few days ago. If you can find that thread and if s/he still has one available, you should contact him/her.

Cool. Would they work in an M300?

I imagine that the M300 is similar to Thinkpad X20, which can use low-density 256MB PC100 sticks. Look for that person's post and ask whether they are low-density modules.

I just looked up Armada M300 on 18004memory.com and confirmed that it uses PC100. Some PC133 sticks, like those on Newegg, might work but to be safe, you should get a low-density PC100.

Anymore 256mg PC133 left? Any 512mg PC133 out there?

Thanks,
Ron

I have a 256 PC-133 from Infineon. It doesn't work in my M300 because it's not low density. You can have it for $25 shipped to you. It worked in my Powerbook G4 (for testing purposes). LMK.

Don't buy it!!

I just tried the same thing. At boot up "the following configuration options were automatically updated: Total Memory installed: 327680 Kbytes." then it will ask if you want to save, ignore, or enter computer setup. If you save it will give you an error.

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: System32\drivers\pci.sys
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows setup using the original Setup CD-Rom. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.

I put in the Windows setup disk then i got this

File setupdd.sys could not be loaded. The error code is 4. Setup could not continue.

Needless to say I have a 256mb pc133 for sale and looking for 256mb pc100!!!
