FS: T43, SXGA+, 1GB RAM, warranty thru 2009, pending sale

As a Thinkpad T43 nut, I acquired a sweet, nearly mint 2668-46U as a back up for myself.

However, I find that I like the lower (and cheaper) XGA resolution a lot better, as my aging eyes don't like the smaller fonts on the super-high resolution of the SXGA+ screen. Call me a neophyte.

The specs for this like new T43:

T43 Model 2668-46U

Warranty until 3/08/09

Pent M 750, 1.86ghz, RAM upgraded from 512 to 1GB
40 gig hard drive with XP Pro in OEM condition (with IBM rescue & recovery partition)
IBM T43 Rescue & Recovery CDs as back up to the HD partition
Windows XP Pro COA
14.1" SXGA+ in perfect shape
ATI Radeon X300 / PCI Express x16 / 64MB GDDR1 memory
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 B/G wifi
56k modem, Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet
DVD / CD-RW combo drive
6 cell battery, 27 cycles, Panasonic (not subject to recall), first use date is August 2006, warrantied through 3/08/07
All original IBM accessories / manuals - AC Adapter, manuals, even the T43 recovery CDs as noted above

This will ship double-boxed in original IBM box, which will be further protected in a larger, heavily peanut-protected sturdy box, to ensure the original IBM box is not damaged, and the T43 is not subject to any careless handling.

Asking $690 before escrow and shipping. I will share escrow costs if desired (~$50 with escrow.com) as well as shipping costs with you - 50/50 (within the US only).

International shipping and taxes are 100% the responsibility of the buyer, although I prefer to sell to a US / Canada buyer only, due to the increased risk of fraud selling outside of North America.

I will ship FedEx, UPS, DHL, UPS, depending on your preference, with full insurance / tracking.

PM me with questions or concerns.

Pics are available.

As stated, this laptop is in PERFECT shape.

PM me if you're interested.
Thanks,
Frank

Hey guys, newbies who don't realize that you are just joking around might really think that this laptop is worth only around $500.

LOL, sorry Frank if our jokes ruin your sale.

For those who are hesitating, we are just joking. This unit is way above $500.

No worries guys.

I think those who are serious about buying know that this unit is very under-priced even at the current asking price. :)

Price dropped again.

I can't believe no one has jumped on this.

At this price it is becoming a steal.

Virtually brand new T43 with most of its warranty left. I'm sure this will be a great holiday gift for someone. :)

I can't believe it either. Perhaps the last three letters of your username remind potential buyers of the T43's notorious fan problems?

LOL :D

I've never experienced the fan problem with any of the T43's I've come across.

Count me as boggled why no one has yet jumped on this. I can vouch that there are *many* T43s out there that do not have any sort of Fan or cooling/hating problems at all.

Pretty good deal for a pristine condition T43. :)

hi..

has this unit been sold already?

am very interested in this..

would be a very good gift to give my mom as her first computer..

she's been wanting to have one for months now..

if the seller picks me to sell this to..the unit should be shipped to Oregon..

Hi duhmask - this unit has not been sold, although I have gotten a few PMs on it.

I got some questions on where the T43 was assembled / built - the laptop says "made for Lenovo Singapore, made in China".

I am also open to other valid and trust-worthy independent escrow services like escrow.com if the escrow company can be confirmed to be legit.

PM me with your phone number if you wish to discuss.

I have had someone who said he was serious and provided me a #, but never answered his #.

If this doesn't sell by next week it goes on fleabay. I have done some research on escrow.com and it seems to be a decent escrow company to use if I were to use fleabay.

Sale with a potential buyer fell apart, due to request to use COD. I have decided to use only ESCROW.com - a trust-worthy, independent third party escrow company.

Their premium escrow service allows the use of credit cards and e-checks.

Final price drop and this baby goes on fleabay.

sent you a PM the other day. if we use premium service from escrow.com (which i don't mind using at all) would you be willing to ship to the Philippines? Though I still have to check on actual shipping & taxes I need to cover here.

Yes.

Might have to pass on this one, was able to talk to someone who has previously imported used/refurb IBM thinkpads. They were charged w/ a hefty amount.

I still have to validate but the amount he was charged for bringing in these items was around $400 each. Not inclusive of shipping costs & insurance.

Someone better grab this unit before it goes ... to fleabay

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

I was way too busy with family and going on the Polar Express ride with my kids to put this on fleabay.

I thought I'd throw my rock bottom offer out there - $690.

We'd share escrow costs and shipping - within the US states only.

PM me if interested. Otherwise once I get a some free time this weekend it gets posted to fleabay.

Kind of a shame having this pristine T43 sit here unused.

Hey people, even though Lenovo Outlet has several really cheap T43's for sale, this one is a much better one to get because it has been used and confirmed not to have fan problems. If you are considering buying a good T43, this is the one to get. Because of the extremely common fan problems, it's safer to buy a used T43 than a new one.

I definitely would buy if I got that amount money to spend on another laptop. because it is warranty through 2009, you just gotta assume it IS new, and this is a higher end T43

why don't you just sell it in ebay anyway

Please DO NOT reduce the price any further...I have too many TP's already and will be forced to buy this one!!!
