Question: Is there a demand for 760 Series components?
Once upon a time opportunity presented me with several 760 series laptops. I brought one up to full spec and used it for some time (my faithful XD), but even fully upgraded, it eventually couldn't serve my needs.
I thought about reassembling one for pure nostalgia, but I don't know if I'll ever have the time. I wouldn't throw them out. There's just something wrong about throwing out a Thinkpad. It seems sacrilegious somehow. If nothing else, I'd just save them until I do have the time.
At the moment though, I might part with the hardware. Is there a demand for 760 series stuff? I know some components cross over into other series' compatibility, like RAM, drives, caddies etc too.
Right now I'm just curious. I don't have anything prepared to sell right now. I'd just like to know if people would be interested.
Thanks.

LOL, i was just going to say, "Check with AlphaKilo".tfflivemb2 wrote:I wouldn't necessarily say a "demand" for the parts, but there are several forum members that still use and/or collect the 760 series (ie. AlphaKilo470). They are nice little machines.
You could still assemble one and sell it here, too.

Well, I was going to wait for more people mention my name but yeah, check with me. What's available Is it the entire machine but in pieces or is it specific parts? What's the condition? Is there a battery, CD drive or caddy for hard drive? I'm looking to replace my 385CD in it's duties on my network (due to mobo malfunctions) and already have most of a 760CD.
