I'd say $600 since it is a T42. Overall condition might be a factor.

Now this price could be higher on eBay. But here where everyone has a Thinkpad, the prices might be a little cheaper.

Also, since the T/X60 series came out, the prices on the older models have really dropped, due to a flooded market.

Definately between 5 & 6 in the ballpark, I just sold a nice t42 for 570. It had a 7k60 HD, 768M ram Dvd burner, 1.8G pentium. XGA though.

XGA vs SXGA+ (and the accompanying gfx card) is what defines a T4x price, and unfortunately you are at the lower end of the scale. If you can get $550, it is a decent price.

Spot on. Everything else is easily upgraded on these systems. These two items (LCD and motherboard) define the base selling price.

$500-$600 is true, without a warranty it's not much more than a T40 - in fact, spec.'s are nearly identical. The extra memory helps a little.

An entry level T43 sold on eBay today for $500 that had 18 months warranty remaining. This is not typical, but shows were the market is heading.
