WTB: T22 or T23 - PURCHASE MADE

EDIT: I have accepted an offer from a forum member.

I am looking to buy a T22 or T23 to give my father at Christmas. The laptop MUST be in real nice shape.

I just wasted a bunch of time on eBay with a jerk who described what he was auctioning as "MINT" and sent me a beater with a palmrest worn to a glossy finish, a bunch of cracks in the plastic, and a dying LCD backlight. Fortunately for me, the guy seems more like he's clueless than a scam artist, so I'll get reimbursed. First time I've had a problem, but I'd rather avoid eBay since the clock is running.

Thanks

T23

Can you explain what "real nice shape" means to you?

Will help everyone ascertain what you're looking for..........

Thanks,
Ron

Have you seen these on the LA Craigslist:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/sys/230878253.html

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/sys/233058509.html

The obvious good thing is you can inspect them before buying.

And this T30 is actually cheaper than the above T23:

The following $500 T41 with 7200rpm HDD and 14" SXGA+ doesn't indicate location and is thus most likely a scam:

Good idea!

No cracks in plastic
No splotchiness in LCD display
No, or at most, slight pressure marks on LCD from trackpoint buttons
No pink tinge to whites on initial power up
No loud fan noises (i.e., no bad bearings)
No gouges on LCD cover
Light wear on keyboard and palmrest (negotiable)

Other factors:
512MB RAM a plus
Hard drive, anything 10GB or larger is fine
Ultrabay - only need DVD ROM, already have CD burner and floppy

Thanks, all.
