Word to the wise if you find one of these RARE gems.
Buy the T41/42 "long" fan for better cooling and you MUST use top-notch thermal paste (I personally like Arctic Silver 5). Without these you will run into overheating issues when the CPU runs at 100%.
I've had one of these for almost a year now and it is a problem you have to stay on top of.

Thanks brentpresley,

. I also put up a WTB: for a long fan but NVR got a reponse .. Do you know where I could get one at a resonable price?
Thanks cmarti, I know these ara hard to come by but that's a bit more then I'm looking to pay.. I'm hoping to find one or even a 755 dothan through the forums for a little cheaper.. I only paid $170 for my T40.

You have ZERO chance of getting a 765 for cheaper than what cmarti found. They are the top-end 400FSB chip and not that many were made.
Go to eBay for the long fan. Just like the 765, anyone that has one is NOT going to give it up.

Well I worked on four laptops for this guy. He was told by another repair shop that three of the four had bad motherboards. The T40 was the only one that did. So I fixed the problems and asked him what he wanted me to do about the T40.. He told me to toss it .. So I said I'll just take the T40 in exchange for the work I did. I replaced the mainboard and ended up with a T40 for $170... Guess I got lucky

Did you have to do anything special?
Or the seller was just selling it at that price?
