not a great price really. depends if there's any warranty left and that price with 256 ram isnt great. i had a t30, sold it for 400 with a dvd burner and 512 ram.

I agree it's not a good deal. However, if you can find one of those 10% off coupons (just do a Google search), that would make it a halfway decent deal.

Find out if it has the "bad memory slot" problem if you can. The ad says "one open slot" could possibly not work.

Are you referring to the part that says

Memory Slots (Total): 2
Memory Slots (Available): 1

Doesn't that just mean one slot has the 256MB stick, and the other is empty? I would expect a "refurbished" (i.e. not just "used") unit not to have a bad memory slot.

Yes, i'm referring to the open slot, if the slot has been open the entire life of the machine it could possibly be that it has not been tested. I know it says refurbed, but who is doing the refurb it's not an IBM certified used. Reading through the definition given on the web site for a refurb/recondition there is a lot of room for concern.

if you're looking for a T3o, you should look into ibm certified used. They at least have a 6 month warranty from ibm.

Now this T30 looks like a much better deal:

Yes it does, especially with an SXGA+ display. Any potential purchaser should get the model number from the seller and check the TAWBOOK to see if it's a WiFi upgradable unit.

I've personally never seen a T30 that didn't have the WiFi antennae installed, but it's always better to ask.
