Up for sale is a mint-condition X40 (2371-9EU) with warranty through Nov 13, 2008. It has the following specs:

P M 1.2GHz LV, 512MB RAM, 40GB 4200rpm HDD, 12.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, Intel Extreme, Intel PRO 802.11b/g wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), Secure Chip, 4 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

With the 4-cell battery, this is the lightest X40 possible. The WinXP Pro hidden partition is intact, and I will also include the recovery discs generated from that partition. Several keys, including the spacebar, are starting to get shiny but it's really subtle. There are no other blemishes whatsoever, i.e. no stuck/dead pixels, no scratches, etc. because I have been using this X40 at home exclusively (I always travel with my Toshiba R100). Thus there is no need to show any pics -- it just looks like a brand new X40. I will ship the unit in its original box with all original documents, extra trackpoint caps, etc. I am asking for $760 shipped with insurance, or $730 for local pickup in Providence RI or the Boston area (Cambridge or South Station). I can toss in a 1GB PC2700 Kington module to increase the total RAM to 1.5GB for an additional $75.

I have sold three Thinkpads here and all three buyers were very happy. My eBay user name is pianowizard with 100% (73 out of 73) positive feedback.

All the X series models are TrackPoint only, no touchpad.

Hey thanks for answering that for me. The trackpoint on this X40 is exceptionally easy to use, unlike the stuff trackpoints on some other X series models that I have used (like the X22 that I am using right now).

BTW, I love this X40 and would not mind keeping it if I can't sell it. Unlike the A31p that I had for sale two weeks ago, which was taking up too much space and I really wanted to get rid of it ASAP, I am *not* desperate to sell this X40 and won't reduce the asking price for this X40. So, please don't think that by waiting for a few more days, the price will go down. If you are interested in buying it, just PM me right now with your highest offer and I will consider it.
