WOW... how fortune favors ... I have 4 laptops now... two t30s and
two T20 series laptops now... IT Manager for unsaid Michigan company tosses them and employees of our unsaid Michigan company is given permission to aquire them...

Thought we had a great find only to find out they are Supervisor password locked tight: lock stock and barrow.... They work display logos , spin harddrives ... ie but without that monster password removed they might be only paper weights. They are so nice looking to us.

Any suggestions other than packing them and shipping them to this Refurb company in FL who claim they can resell the Liquid Crystal displays of the Thinkpads....

p.s. only two of us are interested in the units so maybe if some of you real thinkpad tech-types know how to solve such problems we could give away a couple for trade or payment.. etc..

There is an option to get small chip on *bay and replace it on your MB, that really worked. Need to do some solder work for this.

Are you certain they're Supervisor Passwords (SP)? A Power On Password (POP) will lock you out of BOOT just as effectively, but is easily removed, get the HMM for the systems and read up on PWs.

Have you tried contacting the IT manager at the "unsaid Michigan company"? Corporate ITs, if they're any good, will usually use one or two SPs to ensure the ability to restore a corrupted or emloyee set user (POP) password.

That's as much info as we'll allow here WRT to SPs, thread locked.
