#1 Post by The Spirit of X21 » Sun Nov 19, 2006 10:08 pm

Hi folks,

Would someone be able to burn me a copy of the Recovery CDs for the X21?
I will gladly pay for postage and CD-Rs.

Thanks!

No one has the X21 CDs? Maybe someone here can send Chris here a nice X21 HD image?

I also am in need of a recovery disk for a Thinkpad X23 with Windows 2000 Professional. Lenovo no longer offers it, and it seems that no one has one.

As cheap as CD disks are, it seems that IBM would have included them in with new Thinkpads.

I bought mine used without the option to make one, and now I need to reinstall, but can't do it without the disk.

Makes me want to cosider Linux.

Just copy Windows 2000 from a friend. As long as you are using your Thinkpad's Win2K product key, it's legal.

I would do exactly that except that I know no one who has a working copy of Windows 2000. That is why I am asking on this forum - so far without results.

There was a Windows 2000 Pro recovery disk for an X20 on Ebay today. I bid on it, but got a message this evening that Ebay removed the auction. Seems that they thought it was against their rules.

It's so strange - I've found it much easier to get older versions of Mac OS. I don't understand where all of the Windows 2000 CDs have gone - this was a Win2K world once upon a time, right?
