Thanks for the info! Any idea whether this will work with a X31? Or will I get the 1802 error?

They're in stock again - perhaps a few were hiding on the shelf

They did in fact restock. I ordered one yesterday, but received an email from IBM saying that:
Thank you for ordering IBM Certified Used Equipment offered by IBM Credit LLC.
We regret to inform you that due to inventory constraints, we are unable to fulfill the ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter II that you ordered. Please contact a sales representative immediately,to discuss alternative models. When calling, please be sure to reference your IBM order number XXXXXX . A sales representative can be reached at 1-888-SHOPIBM(746-7426), extension 8733, Monday - Friday, 8:30-6:00 ET.
Thank you for your business and we appreciate your patience.
Please note that as of now, your order has been cancelled.
But, but, but . . . they are STILL listed as being available on the web site! Will update once I have a chance to talk to them.
This was the only item on the order, wonder if it is too small for them to fulfill??

Just spoke with IBM. What a joke!
The rep told me they had a problem with the counter on the web site, and that the card was in fact out-of-stock.
I asked about the laptops, and if the counters (Which almost always show "SOLD OUT") were affected as well, and he replied that only the counter on that one particular product was affected.
Best joke I have heard all month long! IBM, big, international computer services giant, can't reset a flipping counter on their website. Hope this isn't what IBM has come to.

Showing out of stock again, with same pricing.
Mine did ship, UPS tracking info was provided. It looks like order for multiple units ship in individual boxes, as more than one tracking number was provided. Not very efficient or environmental.
I wonder how many forum members ordered one (or more)?

The site had the same problem several months ago when 1GB PC2700 SODIMMs were on sale for $56 apiece. They were out of stock but the web site showed them as being still available.

I ordered two and the shipping notice I received gave separate tracking numbers for each one.
Interesting also is the fact that they were shipped by:
Solectron Customer Service

Morrisville NC 27560

Update:
My original order for this card was from the Employee Purchase Program site. (I'm not, my best friend is.) After I spoke with IBM yesterday about the issue, I clicked on over to the public site, saw the card was still listed as "In Stock" and ordered the card for a second time using my same account credentials.
I almost immediately received an order confirmation! Still waiting for shipping confirmation. Must be overwhelmed by all the holiday traffic.
BTW: Morrisville is really Research Triangle Park. I assume Solectron is a third party paid to fulfill orders.

I too ordered one as soon as I saw this post, and just as losmeme mentioned, I got an order confirmation immediately. I am yet to recieve a shippong confirmation though.

Let's hope not!
Update: I just received the first card, the UPS driver said there's another in the truck (along with another package) but he can't find it at the moment and will return later this afternoon after a few more deliveries empty things out a bit.

They look like pulls. Good packing, but definitely not retail packaging, e.g. no warranty info, etc.
Part No. 73P430
Haven't tried them in anything yet, but I've got an X31 and a T42 just waiting for them.

Same here - they look no where close to an original part (for the record, the look beat up compared to the Cisco card I replaced). It works great though - infact it shows more signal strength than the Intel a/b/g in my T60.

I received mine, too. I really can't complain about the packing. It's not retail with all that typical wasted IBM paperwork, but it was in a nice small sturdy box, wrapped in bubble wrap, inside a properly sealed antistatic sleeve, all taped up very professionally.
The one that I opened looked new and had the manufacture date of May 2006. Part no. 39T0355.
I'm thinking about selling the leftovers that I don't use.
