The 14'' sleeve can fit my T40 perfectly, not tight not loose. My T40 is 12.2''x10.5'' (with 9 cell battery), and about 1'' high. You can measure your T23/R31, if it is same size, it will fit in the sleeve.

i just found the measurements and here is what i got

I just did another careful measure again,
width: 12.25 in,
depth: 10.125 without 9-cell battery, 11 in with battery.
Height: 1.25 front and 1.5 back.
Also, my sleeve is made from anti-♦shock polyurethane, and it has good elastic, at least I can fit in one finger alone side, so I think it should OK for your laptop.

Has anyone fitted one of the 14" sleeves to a T23 or the like?

Are these 14" still available?

This is an awesome online community! I have been lurking for a few months now. I am also a member of the Diesel Benz mailing list (another great community), and can't help seeing a parallel between the two products! They both are top-of-the-line, hyperengineered, relatively easy to repair, extremely rugged and extremely useful even long after most other brands are obsolete or on the scrap heap.

I won an auction on a 12" sleeve from an ebay seller based in China with good feedback. haven't received it yet but it looks identical to these. it was about $10 with shipping

I bought one for a 15" from portable.drive on eBay.co.uk - it shipped directly from Asia. He's not offering any for sale now, but you could always send him a message and ask if he has any left. I think it was £10 or thereabouts. This was in November of 2006 though...

wanted to post a followup to my ebay purchase. i finally received it. it's nice quality and fits perfectly. nice part is the width is not fixed, just goes by how tightly you close it, so it can be used with either battery.

dealing with the seller, however, is another story. took me 3 weeks to receive and no emails were ever returned.

I was unfortunately unable to locate the eBay shop Troels pointed to ("portable.drive" on eBay.co.uk; no longer exist?), and the shop pointed to by bri does not offer what I am/was after: Sleeves for 15.0" sized ThinkPad's (with 4:3 LCD's), and similar to those sold in this thread (of which I already have bought a few that I am very happy with).

I have however found a shop that sells what I believe is exactly the same sleeves as shown in the very first post of this thread (= being the sleeves sold by riverwater), this shop also selling sleeves for both 12'' and 14" and 15'' IBM-branded ThinkPad's - see eBay shop wlanservice. I contacted the seller (via wlanservice@hotmail.com - note their very good feedback at eBay!) and I received an immediate answer; sleeves are indeed available and at very attractive prices! So, I have ordered a couple of 15" models, and I will post back here once I receive them.

Just for the record: In despite of seeking quite a bit, I have not been able to find these "IBM ThinkPad" branded sleeves for 15.0" ThinkPad's anywhere else, today.
