For sale: IBM 802.11a/b/g, part number 31P9701

I've just bought this card on Ebay.
Then I found this thread.
It occurs that if I change the card in my T40 (237392U which has 802.11a/b) I will void my warranty (palmrest and MiniPCI card are not customer-replaceable on this particular model and have tamper resistant screws for some stupid reason).
However, it can be installed in all Wi-Fi-upgradeable models or if the installed card is different than 802.11a/b.
Should have done some research first.

Anyway, I'd like to resell it. I paid $96 w S&H, I can sell it for $90 shipping within USA included. Please let me know if you are interested.

Put the card in your machine and use it. If you ever need to send the machine in for service, put the a/b card back in first.

The palmrest and a/b card are held in place with, IIRC, #7 torx security screws. I've found the bits to fit that size security screw at both my local hardware store and Home Depot.

Regards,

James

I would replace the card too. Same drivers, just take out the old and slap in the new. Should be painless.
