Yeah, another off-topic sale. My office just got a Windows Small Business Server and Macs just don't play nice with all of the advanced feaures.

I have an old Power Macintosh G4 (the graphite and silver one) from the year 2000 that has been SERIOUSLY upgraded and is looking for a new home.

The computer started life at 400MHz, but currenly has a 1.0GHz PowerPC G4 processor. Its also got a DVD/CDRW combo drive, 768MB of RAM and a 180GB hard drive.

The computer has two built-in FireWire and two built-in USB 1.1 ports, as well as an add-on (PCI) board that adds two more FireWire and a pair of USB 2.0 ports. It has an upgraded video card (nVidia 5200MX 32MB AGP) that supports OS X Quartz Extreme, on-board Ethernet and a PCI a/b/g wireless card that uses Apple's native Airport Extreme drivers. Its also got a Zip100 drive but it is not connected and room for at least three more hard drives. There is no modem.

I'm looking for around $250 (best offer over $200) or trade for a desktop PC. This thing is big and heavy, so shipping is out.

You know, it is possible that RUSH2112 has a relative or friend that lives in SoCal.... If my daughter (who's at school in L.A.) needed a Mac, I might have done the same thing.

If not, then he does deserve a razz...

Or...

He could like he did, and offer to cover the cost of shipping, which works for me.

25 to 30 pounds (estimated) IS going to be a pretty hefty shipping charge.

$21 for a 25lb package via FedEx. Not bad for something going across the country.

Wow. Assuming you are using FedEx Home service, the rate is lower than what I remember. I won't repeat the pictures here of the last thing I received via FedEx  :D .

If it makes you any more comfortable, try going to:

And yeah, listen to Ray. I think he knows what he's talking about.

And so we can cover all grounds, if you want, I can give my story about the Postal Service and a multi-hundred dollar piece of computer testing equipment.
