Yes. if your laptop can handle the faster RAM.

ohn, I just did a google search. Seems there is a 25% increase in data transmission. My X60S has a PC2-5300 stick. I guess I may need to get this stick to fully utilize the OEM stick. How many do have now?
Actually my X60S currently runs pretty well. I just wonder if I will perceive any performance improvement if I upgrade the other stick from PC2-4200 to PC2-5300.

It will improve your X60s' performance.

BUT whether you'll
perceive the improvement depends on what you use your machine for. For simple tasks, probably not. You should be able to sell the PC2-4200 stick that you currently have for around $80 though, so in effect you're only paying $25 to upgrade to PC2-5300, quite a bargain IMO.
