Slightly off-topic but you can use it with ThinkPads. Continuing the office cleansing of unused equipment....

For sale is one almost unused, nearly new in box SimpleShare NAS (Network Attached Storage) device with 250GB. This was a warranty replacement that I got a few months ago from SimpleTech. Comes in the original packaging. Was used (turned on) for about one month.

Features include:
Store and share files over a network
Easy setup with AutoDiscovery (no network experience required)
Backup and protect PC or Mac files with Retrospect Express Expand storage capacity with additional USB drives
Share printers over a network with built-in USB print server
Fast Ethernet 10/100 LAN connection
NASFinder software provides automatic drive mapping and simple configuration
Compact, space-saving design, quiet fan-free design
FREE unlimited technical support, boxes says 3yr warranty

Manuf info page is here

Has worked great - have used it with user-level password security on the shared folders - can also use share-level security. Uses CIF for Macs and Windows, NFS for Unix/Solaris access (it uses some form of embedded Linux internally). You can also encrypt a storage pool for extra data security. Uses a web-based interface to administer. Have not tried the print server function. Nor have I installed the Retrospect Express that comes with it.

Price now $80 plus actual shipping via non-CC PayPal. Don't have photos but can take some if necessary - looks just like the photos on the web page.

I am SOOOOO tempted, having just bought a brand-new server and set everything up, but I'm plum broke. If you'll do $85 shipped (slow ground shipping fine) then I'll break the bank and take it off your hands.
