Goes for $299. I got it as a warranty replacement but since there was a delay, I purchased my own drive. Will go on ebay soon, but thought someone would want the unit here. $199 is asking price.

Is this thing a external case that accepts ultrabay devices?

It is not an external case that accepts ultra-bay devices, simply the very small drive itself as pictured.

I'm asking around $200 plus shipping. PM me if you want to discuss this.

I've sold several laptops recently and I am on ebay.

Just missed your sale on eBay -- that'll teach me to get too greedy.

However, I came to the Forum here for another reason, and I hope you can help:

Can you tell us what is written on the drive next to the power socket? I'd expect it will be in super-small letters, probably just indented on the case and not even printed. It should say something like "DC IN 5V -- 17V" and then a diagram showing which parts of the plug are (+) and which is (-).

Why do I care? Cuz I have a dead IBM 22P9175 which I just *loved*. It had fantastically versatile power options... you could use its own external adaptor, you could stick a tiny plug adaptor over your Thinkpad's power adapter and use it, or you could plug it into the X41T's "IBM Powered USB 2.0 Port" (16volts), and burn DVDs with no external power supply, and keep your 1 remaining USB port open. I want to see if I can use the old cabling with this new drive, and if 5v is the max this new drive can take, why then I'd cook it, and we don't want that.

Otherwise to use this thing without an external power supply, I'd need to plug up both my X41T's USB ports, and then I'd have none available... not cool.

I've tried much waiting on hold w/ IBM to find this out -- if you can do us the favor of just looking at your drive, now all us poor folks who aren't upgrading to the X60 can see if this'll work for us. Much thanks in advance :)
