FS: 3Com X-Jack Wifi PCMCIA card a/b/g (3CRPAG175)

X-Jack antenna, like-new condition.

These cards are the very next best thing to built-in wireless as the antenna retracts into the card, so you can leave it in all the time. In addition to retracting into the card for storage, doing so turns off the radio to save your batteries.

I can't stand protruding plastic thingees that force me to take the card out when I stow my laptop, so I'd use these cards even if the performance sucked, which it doesn't I have one of these in my X22 and get similar range and stability to the Intel 3495 built into my Toshiba.

$60 shipped in the continental US.

I won't use anything else in a laptop lacking built-in wifi, and also use them in laptops with older built-in cards that are either slow (802.11b) or don't support WPA encryption.

If I didn't have one already, I'd grab this one! Excellent product and seller.

Thanks Ron, appreciate the endorsement.

The card for sale came from a laptop I just bought. I'd keep it myself, except I already have two of these and have no need for a third.

wow if I didn't spend $30 recently on that SMC high power card recently I would jump on this and drive over to pasadena >_< I recall looking all over ebay for a cheaper b/g version but they tend to be hard to find overall.

You could always buy this and sell the SMC.

Do these work better than the original 3com Xjack 802.11B card ?

I have one of those and it is the worst performing B card that I have amongst 3 of them. (Interestingly, by far the best performer is an IBM Brand B card that came with a T22 that I purchased used).

Much better. I get about the same range and link integrity as on my Portege with its built-in Intel 3495 card.
