Forsale: 60GB 5K100 Hard drives 1 SATA and 1 ATA $45 shipped

Continental USA buyers only please (I don't make exceptions so please don't ask). Asking $45 each including shipping.

I have two Hitachi 5K100 60GB drives. Both drives are OEM and bare (no caddy). Both have been wiped clean and neither have any problems, just upgraded to larger capacity drives. One is a SATA drive and one is an ATA drive.

- SATA drive is Lenovo FRU P/N: 39T2623. Manufacture date of 18JAN06. Guaranteed by me to be like new, but since Lenovo OEM no Hitachi warranty.

SOLD - ATA drive is from Panasonic Toughbook CF-18. Manufature date 30MAR06. Guaranteed by me to be like new, but again since OEM drive no Hitachi warranty.

The ATA is a 5400rpm drive that'll work in an X30 right? Any idea what kind of performance increase/battery hit a jump from 4200rpm will offer me? I use my X30 primarily as a portable working computer for school, most all media stuff on my other notebook so I don't want much of a battery hit. Though, I have a 20gb 4200rpm in there now....

Yes, the ATA one will work in the X30. For battery life, I think the newer drives tend to use less power than some of the older drives so I doubt you will notice a difference in battery life. You should notice a performance difference...both due to the speed and the larger size.
