Looking for a good price on a stick of 256MB PC100 RAM for use in a 570E. I believe RAM from the 600E/X will work, as well as T20-22, X20-22 and A20-22.
I am in the process of shoring up a deal for a co-worker, so I just need to see what's out there.

Just in case no one here offers, kahlon.com is selling new parts to fit that bill for $62. I've had good luck with them.

$62!
I was looking on eBay and most of them are up to $40, which is what a 512MB stick should cost!
Thanks for the link though.

PC100 laptop memory is now getting rather rare. Their price for a 32MB card for my 750P is $99(!), but I got one from a local shop for $10.
I got two 256MB PC100 SO-DIMM parts from another local laptop repair shop for $45 each last year. Shop around.

Are you sure you were looking at low-density modules? $40 sounds "too low" for low-density ones. High-density sticks won't work.

Well, judging by pictures alone, as many of them didn't specify.
I was looking at the ones with 8 chips on each side.

See, I told you! It's getting hard to find 512MB PC133 (not what you are looking for) modules for under $50 in the last couple of weeks.

I recently bought two 512MB modules for $90 shipped from a helpful seller on eBay. I bought one for $55 and he gave me a second one for $35 more.

I'll change the subject of my post to "General RAM talk" and have it moved to another section...

That's the downside to trying to save money by buying old laptops from the PC100 era. I think these laptops can save you money only if you're sure you'll never need more than 256MB RAM.
