I just acquired a nice T43, but sadly sans hard drive, so I was hoping I could remedy that. Looking around the forum, it seems that quite a few people have upgraded to the 7K100 drives, so I was thinking someone might want to offset their upgrade cost. I know there are firmware upgrades and such, but at this time I'm looking for an IBM OEM drive from a T43. If anyone is willing to part with one, PM me please.

All I could offer is the original drive from my T42p, which is a 7200upm Hitachi 7K60. It has the 60GB you want and it`s an original IBM FRU and still under warranty (because my T42p is aswell).
Considering prices for original IBM drives, I`d have to say $75 shipped.
PM me if interested

I'm using the original drive that came with my T43, from time to time, in an ultrabay. It is a 60gb 5400rpm Hitachi, FRU 39T2523.
The laptop is one month old.
I was not looking to sell it but I would part with it for more than it is worth. Why you would want to obtain it is beyond me. You could pick up one of the drives that has pretty straightforward flashing instructions on the T43 drive flashing threads and get a bigger faster drive at a good price. The 100gb 7K100 Hitachi drive, which I use as my primary drive, has been selling recently on Newegg for about $121 delivered. A 60gb FRU labelled 5400 drive for 2/3 of that would be a lousy deal in my opinion.
You could download the free trial version of Acronis True Image and port your current drive over to it, then have a better faster laptop with your Thinkpad warranty on the thinkpad and a Hitachi 3 year warranty on the new drive.
