The laptop in my signature finally has to go! As many here know I was waiting to raffle it off for a charity, but I can't wait for them anymore so it's being sold instead. Hopefully here.

Start here for the stock unit's specs: http://tinyurl.com/2vvvnz

I'm willing to sell it upgraded or stripped to any level, so the price will be determinded by what the buyer wants. I have new/used parts and extras for the laptop too, if desired (RAM, keyboard, HDD's, battery, etc.). Just tell me everything you want, or don't want, and I'll put together a quote... or make me an offer.

The condition is very good. A couple of scratches on the top cover and an indent on the palm rest (where my palm sets from typing) is about all I can find wrong. No dead or stuck pixels. Typical Flexview shaded corner on bottom right. Battery is in the red zone. I'll try to get some pictures up.

The warranty just expired last month. I never had to use it.

I live in Florida, USA. It can be shipped most anywhere. I have the original IBM box.

What did I leave out? Let me know.

E-MAILS ONLY. Please no PM's.

Thanks,
- Yak

What is your asking price. I might know someone who may want to buy. My friend may not need to hard drive, but will need the RAM and everything else.

One reason to get this R50p is you can try replacing the display with the legendary QXGA (2048x1536) screen designed only for some R50p and R51 models.

Yak has sold MANY laptops here in the forum....if you check out the positive feedback thread, you should find quite a few, though most of them were just before that thread was started.

I agree totally. John is excellent to work with. I have a T40 that's a year old I bought from him, and it still runs and looks new.

Highly recommended.. :D

Price --> Well, as I said in the post it depends on HOW you want the laptop delivered. Do you want it stock used, or with more RAM, or an extra matched HDD (or 3) for backups, or maybe with a new battery and/or a new keyboard, or maybe you have other needs. For example, some people will express their interest with parts removed (optical, RAM, HDD, wireless, or whatever). Still others will want a price ponit met and I will be willing to match a configuration to that price. Tell me what YOU want, then I'll price it for you.

Pics --> Believe it or not but I do not own a digital camera. It's just my opinion, but I don't think the quality of all but the best high-$$$ digitals matches that of a $5 disposeable film camera right now so I haven't bought one! If I can borrow one in the next few days I'll put up some pics, but I've sold over a hundred laptops over the years without a picture. Chance are I'll sell this one too.

Feedback --> Some have already commented, but there are about 50 other people here who have bought from me (and another 50 who have sold to me), and as one member commented, most were before the "positive feedback" thread by asspenny was started (but my name is in the first post!). I also have a 130-something rating on eBay with no negatives over 7 years, and if you don't know how hard THAT is to obtain (and how much crap you have to swallow) that you haven't sold there much! So, yes, I've been around awhile. Feel safe, as if the buyer is legit (not a "tire-kicker") and they feel what they received isn't what I represented and I can't make it right, they can just send it back for a refund of the cost of the item. My rep is too important.

Payment Options --> I'll take PayPal (credit cards or cash or checks), Cashier's Checks from a major US bank, or US Postal money orders (or from other areas if convertable to US $ like some are).

Any other question? ...Just ask! (remember, E-MAILS and not PM's please!!!)

What would the price be for 2GB of RAM, and 100GB 7200 HD??

Nobody should question the integrity of this man.

What every he sells will have a fair price tag, how he describes it will be as good and more accurate as a picture, and he is completely trust worthy in a trade or send money to.

I'm posting not so much to bump this, as I've had several responses I've not had time to respond to, but to let those who HAVE sent me e-mails (about this and other parts) that I have not ignored you! There were some medical issues over the past few days, so hopefully I'll get each of you a response by tonight. If not, then by morning for sure (even if my wife has to type for me).

Thanks for your patience.

Thanks everyone (for your interest AND well wishes).

Once I was able to finally respond to all those interested it sold quickly. I went with the 1st "I want it" to hit my inbox, so off to Poland it goes next week. I'll hate to part with it, but when you've lost a few 'megapixels' from your visual resolution and you need the bulb on top of the Luxor by your side just to read the newspaper, well, a UXGA screen isn't practical  .

Now I'm wishing for a new T70 with a beautiful 17" XGA screen  . OK, I'm joking. It's not THAT bad!
