WTB: Hard drive and dvd drive for Thinkpad r52

i'm trying to help a friend i'm deployed with fix his thinkpad. he needs both a hard drive and a dvd drive. anyone have some they would like to get rid of?

how much is shipping to the states from scotland?
would there be any compatibility issues with a european drive in a US machine?

Does that laptop take an Ultrabay2000?
