I'm selling my trusty T42 -- I'm about to buy a T60, and I need to put this one up for sale.

Specs:

*Pentium M 1.7 GHz CPU
*14.1" 1400x1050 screen
*768 MB RAM
*60 GB, 7200 RPM HD
*Six-cell and nine-cell battery
*Windows XP Pro
*DVD/CDRW Drive

I'll have some pictures posted as soon as my digital camera finishes charging. In the meantime, I'll try to describe the condition. In a couple of words, it's nearly flawless. I broke my computer last month and IBM replaced it with a new T42. The hard drive is the only part from the old T42. The computer is really in great shape. The screen is in perfect condition, and the only real sign of wear is on the right-hand side of the space bar.

The computer is covered by on-site warranty and accidental damage protection through the end of July.

This laptop is located in New York, and I'm happy to ship it most anywhere. Drop me a line and we'll discuss arrangements. I also have a long history of positive ebay feedback, which I am happy to provide upon request.

I think $725 is a fair price for this computer, but please feel free to make an offer. I'd prefer not to accept Paypal, to save on transaction fees, but that's something else we can talk about.

Isn't the T42 new from IBM? Why would there wear sign on the space bar?

Is warrenty honoured in Canada? Do you have any pictures links for your TP please?

Thanks

According to the warranty terms that accompany this system (http://www-304.ibm.com/jct01004c/system ... 753-08.pdf) it appears that the warranty will be honored in Canada, and that service is obtained through the same procedure as in the United States.

As far as the space bar wear, I guess I must slam my right thumb down on it pretty hard. ;) I've had this keyboard less than a month, and there's already that small amount of wear developing. Nothing out of the ordinary, all my keyboards have been like this, but if it really bothered you, you'd have until the end of July to get a new one for free. :)

I'll take some pics in the morning and add them tomorrow. Sorry for the delay!

Gonna bump this one once and then take it to ebay. Thanks for looking, everyone.

Somebody grab this!

I've sold four of the FVUs to folks around the world and they're all running strong with absolutely no problems. Probably one of the most reliable T4X models made.

Thanks! My first FVU ran flawlessly for 2.5 years until I managed to drop it and damage it beyond repair. I've been using this new one they sent me for a month now, and it's even better than the first. I have no doubt it'll do another 2.5, or longer. I hope it finds a good home here.
